Hi

First of all, thank you for this great CMS! I'm already running a site (www.barbara-spahni.ch) on gpEasy 4.0 and a new one using gpEasy 4.3.1 with Bootstrap 3 just went online: www.spahni.com

There, I notice some strange behaviours:

  1. updated .less files are not (immediatly) compiled into the pages. When does the compiling takes place? Does it takes hours? Do I have to restart the browser or clear the browser cache?
  2. A 1:1 copy of the website from the development server to the production server resulted in different colors obviously caused by not-recompiled -or- now-recompiled .less files. Compare the 2nd nav bar of the dev Server with the production server.
  3. Loggin on/off with gpEasy causes different (versions of?) CSS to be used?

When does LESS compile the files? How are updated files detected, even @imported from styles.less? Note: I use codiad.com to update template.php and styles.less files, while beeing logged in or not with gpEasy).

A "compile now!" function would be helpful. Or are there other means to make shure that all files are recompiled?

That is strange. It is designed to check file modified times and sizes with each request so it should be immediate.

Which method did you use to copy the site to the production server? Where are the less customizations stored? Are they in a style.less file or in the layout editing interface?

There's a chance this is because of browser caching. Can you clear the browser cache to check?

Yes, in the layout editing interface. Clicking "Save" under the LESS editing area will recompile.

Sorry for the trouble, let me know how it goes.

For the 1:1 copy I used FTP for download and upload, using FileZilla.
Both Server: Linux, but this is not clear.
Local client: Win 7, NTFS.

I guess we are approaching... here is what I did (in this order):

I cleared the browser cache - the main navbar still looks different depending on log-in status:
left: logged in, right: logged off.

during layout editing mode, the logged-off version is active:

Saving the layout WITHOUT changes does not change anything.

Saving with some changes (I added a comment to the layout) seems to have initiated a compile and resulted in the desired colors for both modes (loggin in or not).

For now, both websites (development and production server) look the same again. OK!

There is still something strange/wrong: I use one theme "BootSquix" based on a Bootswatch theme with several layouts, two of them are in use. But look at the selecting drop down menu for the current page layout: the wrong(?) layout is highlighted because this is the page "Publikationen" using layout "1_Publikationen" with a different template (with the second nav bar). I can reassign the correct layout, but the wrong one remains highlighted as you can see here ... (but the correct one is applied!)

... but using the page manager, the correct layout is displayed:

Shouldn't the active layout be highlighted?
Highlighting the default layout could be tricky, I would always click the wrong one then...

btw, it really works great. I'm currently working on a new layout for the front page using 2 Bootstrap panels, one for the content and one for a blog. It's easy (as its name) and looks great! Thanks again!
