Uploaded gpEasy to a subfolder (tech) on one of my domains ( under cPanel. Did all the index.php and htaccess changes and most everything works fine, until I edit a page, insert image, and then browse for an image. That leads to an open window of the home page:

The problem seems to be with CkEditor. I can upload files fine through the file manager. This only happens when editing and uploading via CKEditor. Also note that this is what happens when inserting flash and for some reason spell check doesn't seem to work at all on any install.

Note* I've uninstaled it for the time being.

htaccess rules

Here is my htaccess for the domain (probably could use some fixing but it works and I'm not an htaccess expert ;)

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>

RewriteEngine On

# If subdomain www exists, remove it first

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.([^\.]+\.[^\.]+)$ [NC]

RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://%1/$1 [R=301,L]

# If requested resource does not exist as a file

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f

# and does not end with a period followed by a filetype

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !..+$

# and does not end with a slash

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !/$

# then add a trailing slash and redirect

RewriteRule (.*) $1/ [R=301,L]

# BEGIN WordPress

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>

RewriteEngine On

RewriteBase /

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d

RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

# END WordPress

I can use these rules in my gpEasy subfolder and they work also, but still get the error when browsing to upload an image. Please note that it does NOT add a trailing slash '/' to the end of the url when added to the gpEasy install--haven't figured that one out yet.

Regardless of the code I tried in htaccess gpEasy had the same error when browsing to insert an image via CKEditor. This is true for being installed under xampplite or cPanel on my server.

gpEasy works fine when I don't use the htaccess--when inserting an image it brings up the file manager window opened to the image folder with the exact same url as when it did when not working.

1. does my base htaccess code need to be changed to work properly with gpEasy?

2. is it possible to add a trailing slash / to the end of the url in gpEasy? If it is, will it cause problems?

3. is the code good for removing the www in a gpEasy install? It didn’t seem to redirect like it should.

4. Can the "Home" menu be directed to the root same as the header text so they both bring up the same url and page instead of one with "home" or "index.php/home" and the other with */?

5. What would the htaccess code be for a gpEasy install to remove the www, add a trailing slash / to the end of the url, and remove the index.php under cPanel, both for a subfolder in this situation and as the domain/root? Maybe these could be added to the documentation for further htaccess rewrite rules?

Please note that this is the same issue that came up when installed locally (localhost) under xampplite using the htaccess rules.

Multiple site plugin

I installed the multiple site plugin and this causes problems under this setup. The plugin puts a blank index.htm file in the root directory and the directory the second site is installed in = causes all sites to come up blank.

Once I remove the index.htm files then it works fine, with or without htaccess--except for the same issue when browsing for an image from CKEditor. . . at least it's consistent.

OK, I just uploaded gpEasy to my server. Installed it at the root domain and setup htaccess as specified. Everything works for redirecting the urls just fine; however, there is a bug when inserting an image in CKEditor--you cannot browser the server. When you go to browser you simple get a new window that opens to the "home" page.

Please, let me know that I'm not crazy as I haven't heard of any confirmation on this and it happens on every install I've tried--localhost, subdirectories, domains, etc.

If it is a bug I would like to know. If it can't or won't be fixed I would like to know. I'm getting ready to move a site over to gpEasy and want to make my life easy ;)

So if this is something that either can't or won't be fixed in the foreseeable future it would be great to know. . . that way I'll just can htaccess on this particular project and redirect the old URLs.
