I'm trying to install the latest version 3.5, but I'm stuck at the Checking Server page.  It says the file permission are at 777 and expecting 777, and wont let me continue.  What the heck !  Anyone have any ideas ?

There are a number of other settings the installer checks before it can install. Can you see anything else in the list that may indicate a problem?

You can Install gpeasy in your localhost(on your computer,127.0.0.1)

Then upload it on your host

Everything is green - OK except for the permission of the data folder which is orange but says 777.  I tried changed all the folder and file permissions to 777 but it did not help.

I should only need the data directory... I'll take a look at the install script to see if I can find anything. Can you post a screenshot of the install page?

So the issue here appears to involve the php function returning the incorrect value for is_writable().

Would you mind trying this modified /include/common.php file on your system to see if our custom is_writable() method works?
