Would it be complicated to add sth. like …

gpPlugin::Action('FinderOptionsServer', $opts);

and

gpPlugin::Action('FinderOptionsClient', $opts);

… to get a finder instance with different roots/settings - let's say - on a Plugin'S Special Page or Admin Page?

wait stop stop… -  I'guess the Filter hooks you already started are perfect. Not Action hooks, but Filters!
I thought of an Action at this moment as Frédéric (fly06r) and me discussed the gpSettingsOverride solution where I had to pass the $options by reference.

I think Filters are much better!
