Bugs, issues, suggestions for improvements are welcome.
This addon provides a Gadget that can be added to your layout via the Layout Editor* (e.g. to the AfterContent area - but you can use any area).
It shows a hovering "Back to Top" Button on the lower edge of the window/viewport when the page is scrolled to a certain amount.
The addon has lots of customization options - via Plugins->Back2Top Button->Settings.
Icon, custom text/title, transition types, position, colors, size, scroll-speed and -trigger, etc.
If you're already using the much simpler ancestor "Back2Top" which I have posted here, please uninstall it first.
* Some themes may add the gadget automatically after installation.

I removed the hardcoded hover transparency in favor of customizable hover colors, which also support transparency (rgba). So we can have transparency and color transitions for the hover state.
Ich habe die vorgegebenen Transparenzwerte entfernt - zugunsten definierbarer Farben für den Normal- und Hoverzustand. Damit lässt sich nicht nur die Transparenz sondern auch die Farben animieren (rgba->rgba).
Here is the final Version 1.0 - it will also be available for remote install from gpEasy's Plugins repositiory shortly.
Beta is over ;>) - final version is out and available for remote installation:
gpeasy.com -> Plugins -> Back2Top_Button 1.0
Thanks for your feedback and enjoy!
PS: Please uninstall any earlier/beta versions before installing the final one. Thx
thx for the final version of this nice gadget.
I rushed to try it out with all the settings offered. I uninstalled the beta version and installed from within one of my pages (green theme LumoIt). The button came up beautifully, but when i went to the plugin settings, I was met with a blank page - no settings at all??
Refreshed the page, logged out and then in again - same result.
What might be the reason for this?
I use the version 4.4 on that page.

Found, fixed and updated.
Please uninstall and re-install it (it's still version 1.0, so gpEasy will not allow to "update" it)
In case you downloaded and extracted it manually to the /addons folder, first uninstall it, remove the Back2Top_Button folder, re-download it and unpack it again to /addons, then install it via Available(x)
I added this plugin to theme Business Casual, everything looks, but no button shows up?
Just like e.g. the Bootswatch themes, Business Casual doesn't add the gadget automatically.
So you need to manually add the "Back2Top Button" Gadget via Layout Editor:
Click Admin Toolbox -> Apperance -> Layouts -> Business Casual/1_default
Insert the Gadget to the AfterContent Area as seen below (already inserted in the screenshot)
Sorry to bother you of that.
No problem. You're welcome.
I could have made the addon to simply render the button on every page, once installed.
This would have been easier, but it would have deprived us of only using it on certain pages (via layouts).
You're certainly not the last asking this question ;^)
Sorry, there is no easy fix.
The Lock Theme uses CSS animations to intially reveal almost everything on load – this blocks the position:fixed declaration of the gp_Back2Top element.
(The reason of this behavior is likely caused by the way browsers do CSS transforms – using hardware accelerated layers. I can't find any documentation on that.)
I guess it could be fidex by editing the template.php and adding an additional Area outside the animated "container-fluid" div element.
Try adding a line 123 in template.php
<?php gpOutput::Get('Extra','NoAnim'); ?>
Goto Layout Editor and move Back2Top gadget there, the new area should be at the very bottom of the page. This should hopefully do the trick.
