Hi, due to recent issues on my gpEasy powered website, I had to reinstall it, but for some weird reason the visual editor didn't install, so when I have to edit something in a page, I have to handle everything in code. How do I fix this?

PS: just because I don't want to open another topic,,,, Can I get this forum module somewhere or is it just gpEasy website exclusive?

TIA

The forum here is a plugin that works with gpEasy.

If CKEditor didn't install then how are you viewing the source code within gpEasy? Do you mean to say you are opening the files with a text editor?

Have you tried to re-upload the include folder to make sure everything is there and nothing got damaged?

Always remember, gpEasy is self contained so it's easy to just backup the data folder and delete everything, upload a new gpEasy and start again. You can also make sure everything is working via a localhost install (see docs for how to) and then just copy it to your server.

As far as why CKEditor wouldn't be working. . . no idea really. Something must have gotten broken during the file transfer.

Not really, I can edit everything by the CMS itself, but there isn't any button or menĂ¹ to choose bold, italic, underlined, or the font color/bg color.... I mean, I just see in code, and not WYSIWYG... I hope I explained myself...

So, in this case, do I need to reinstall the whole thing or just to reupload some files that don't touch any data?

Anyway, for the forum plugin I meant, is there a way to get it somewhere? I can't find it in plugins page :(

Sorry, I didn't even look in the plugins section for the Forum plugin. I just assumed. . . since it's a Special_Forum URL I figured it's a plugin. . . maybe someone else knows something about this?

CKEditor: not to make anymore assumptions, are you sure the toolbar isn't minimized?

If it is indeed broken then you ought to re-upload and over-write the include folder in your install. In general when dealing with a gpEasy install there's only four folder to deal with, addons, data, include, and themes.

The data contains all your personal site details - pages, images, settings, etc. . . . Themes, obviously, is your themes folder addons contains all the plugins you have uploaded. When installed they get put into data/_addon. . . include is the main gpEasy program folder. This is what you replace when you upgrade. All you really need to do is delete it and re-upload it again.

Generally what I do is install gpEasy under xampp lite on my computer (localhost) and make sure everything is working OK (see docs for how to). Then I just upload the entire folder or site to my server. After that I use WinSCP to sync the data folder from time to time as I make my changes on the localhost instead of on the server.

hope that solves the problem.

OK. . . now who knows about this Forum plugin?

I noticed some files used in the website are different from the original gpEasy's ones, so I want to be 100% sure if it isn't going to ruin/break anything uploading the original include stuff in my server.

Sorry to bother along, but I'm not always sure of what I'm going to do...

Not sure of the question you are asking.

please read the documentation on installing, upgrading, or moving gpEasy.

All your stuff that you have uploaded and created in gpEasy is in the data folder. That is the folder to be concerned about.
