Hi, I can't get past the install page when I try to install on my virtual web server running IIS 7.0.

It's a completely clean install and all the status checks show 'passed'. When I click the install button the index.php page has a trailing / i.e. index.php/ - is this usual? I've done a similar setup on my localhost and all works well. My web host seem stumped and suggest I contact you for advice. The url is : - http://www.ambit-solutions.co.uk/clientpass/nfg/content/

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks

That is normal for Typesetter. We use a web server feature known as "Path Info" to handle urls. This way, a url like http://example.com/index.php/Page_Name will serve the content for a page title of "Page Name".

Path Info isn't required though. If you and your hosting provider can't enable it (this may be helpful), Typesetter also supports url redirection. When url redirection is set up, index.php isn't used at all in the url: http://example.com/Page_name.

These are the rewrite rules Typesetter attempts to create during installation for IIS servers:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<configuration>
<system.webServer>
    <rewrite>
        <rules>
            <rule name="Redirect index.php" stopProcessing="true">
                <match url="index\.php/?(.*)" />
                <action type="Redirect" url="{R:1}" appendQueryString="false" redirectType="Found" />
            </rule>

            <rule name="Rewrite index.php" stopProcessing="true">
                <match url="(.*)" />
                <conditions>
                    <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsFile" negate="true" />
                    <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsDirectory" negate="true" />
                </conditions>
                <action type="Rewrite" url="index.php?gp_rewrite={R:1}" />
            </rule>

            <rule name="Rewrite Root" stopProcessing="true">
                <match url="^$" />
                <action type="Rewrite" url="index.php?gp_rewrite" />
            </rule>
        </rules>
    </rewrite>
</system.webServer>
</configuration>
