captcha is turned on via the configuration page. You have to have a captcha key. You shouldn't have to edit any files. Just get the public and/or private captcha key and enter it into the configuration page. I don't use captcha so I haven't tried it, but haven't heard of any problems using it either.

Andre,
Checkout Stano's new plugin, SMTP Contact Form. He did a great job of turning a couple contact forms we had into a self generating contact form plugin. It has options for normal phpmail or SMTP. It has two types of anti-spam techniques built into if. First, if uses JS for the entire form display, thus JS must be enabled, many bots don't have that ability. Secondly, there's a number check anti-spam field. And finally there are a couple hidden fields that only bots would fill in and if they are it won't send.

Hi there,
Ben from fauvdesign (www.fauvdesign.com) here.
I've added the SMTP Contact Form to a website we're developing for a client:
http://vitalitynutritiontherapy.com.au/index.php/Contact_Us
Where it has the select field for Area of Interest, I don't know which PHP file to edit and what to add so that it adds the selected values to the email which is sent. Can anyone help?
Ben

Hello,
first of all: thank you all who have made great CMS and also all other developers/supporters.
I am very new in gp - i have just installed it and am now learning. I was used to WP before but want some good/better alternatives...
That i don't open another topic. I would like to ask you...
1. i have downloaded Stano's SMTP Contact Form (apparently built in one doesn't work - i believe it's server issue).
2. i have configured SMTP theme.
3. How (please step by step) can i use it under 'Contact' page?
Please have some patience, i want to learn this cms and hopefully contribute somehow to community!
Thank you,
Vaio

Hello Vaio,
you're right, there is no user manual included with the plugin, but it could be handy. So the plugin's usage sequence could look like this:
(usage for gpEasy 2.0 & SMTPContact 1.5)
1. At first remove the autoloaded "Contact gadget" from its default location: use the menu Appearance -> Edit this layout -> Remove.
Now choose some page, click "Add New Section", select Content Type=File Include + save, and then click "Edit File Include" and choose "Contact_Gadget" +save.
2. now open "/index.php/Admin_SMTP_contact_form" page in browser, and in "Settings-Template Setup" you can set, which fields should be available on the form and which javascript validations will be used. Also if it is needed, you can set email options, authentication and others settings. When you have this done, click "Save Settings".
3. Now click "Create new template", this creates template.php file. You can also click "Edit template", because the template doesn't contain javascript and php scripts yet.
4. And now click "Create new smtp contact form" - this link assembles "template.php+form validator code" and saves it to "smtpcontact.php" file. And now finally and hopefully, it should work :-)
