hi,

i have a typesetter installation in a subfolder, now i would have to put it in the root.

could i just move up the content of the subfolder because it is the same server in this case??
(how) could i then just change the htaccess?

for the moment i did a redirect but this isn't the best solution.

i am asking because the owner of the site is in a hurry and i tried to install a new typesetter in the root but it didn't work (problem with password protection of the root while installation so that nobody would see the demo installation before importing..?)

You will have a problem with images and links. They are all built relative to the root, so they contain the name of the subfolders.

A known issue.
I have an almost working solution and will hopefully manage to add it to 5.1.1

yes thats' the other problem - and it's even harder to solve, because index.php will not work as entry point.

There is also web.config in cases Typesetter is running on Windows/IIS.
On lighttpd, there is nothing like .htaccess, so url rewriting  has to be done via server/vHost configuration.

While it might be possible to implement fallbacks for Apache and IIS, the only working solution for all cases is to disable url rewriting prior to moving the whole site accross directory levels and only enabling it again later.

This should work independently from the folder structure, same apples to with www/without www.
So, no action required in this regard.
