I've put together a Simple Blog version with commenting: Simple Blog Zip
Let me know what you all think. Does it work well? Is it set up well for CSS styling?

Super!
Nearly perfect.
Just 3 little things:
Why don't you use the Captcha if the user is registrated to?
Not every language uses one word for 1 (Singular) and another word for more than 1 (Plural). So I think it is better to use only 1 word. If at least one comment is postet to write like "Comments: <number>".
I would wish the "Add Comment"-button on the left inside a <td colspan="2">.
Thanks!!!

Great work! thanks Josh.
I agree with opusonline, captcha would be great and the 'add comment' btn on the left or right, not center please.
And the simple_blog_info <span>'s could also be more distant from each other, or at least have something in between them to separate date and # comments. Maybe a className for each so we can position it with css, or just a 'date | #comments' would do to.

Tried the blog with my Artisteer based template and it works ok but there is a formatting problem for the blog list (which is not related to the template design). I put two entries into the blog. I then went back and added a picture to the most recent one at the beginning of the content. In the list display the first original entry. Because the content for this blog entry is only one short paragraph the text did not extend below the inserted picture. The other blog entry ended up below the content of the most recent one instead of being below the entire blog entry. I was able to fix this by adding another div after the post with a clear: both; in an inline style.
Looks like there needs to be a tweak to the plugin code to fix this.

Hi,
great to have the comment feature!!! Here are my comments:
-in configuration the 'allow comments' checkbox has no effect
-I can not erase a comments. After deleting a comment it just jumps to the first blog-entry, but nothing happend (the deleted comment is still there)
The rest looks just great!!!
/cs
[edit] p.s. a seperator between the blog-date and no. of comments would be nice (from my point of view)
e.g. 2010/03/23 | 2 Comments or 2010/0/323 [2 Comments] or whatever...

Not sure which way would be best. If you generate the inline clear in the plugin then maybe people would not have to 'fix' their template. If you use a class you are asking people to add the class to their css file. I guess either works - don't see why having it in the plugin would be a problem. Maybe others have an opion on this?

Hi Josh,
can't install the new updated simple blog, It requires 1.6.1 which I do not have and can not find???
-Concerning the 'allow comment' it is that wheather it is checked or not, comments are always allowed!
-If I remeber right the logout problem always occured when having installed a new release of gpEasy or a plugin, will check with debug on.
Thanks...

Oops... It should be ready to go now: Simple Blog

Hi,
yep, it is working now correct ('allow comments' and deleting of comments)!!!
-Would be nice to have edit-text also for 'Add comment' button and for 'cloese-' and 'open' comments in Admin.
-One more nice to have: a seperator between the blog-date and no. of comments
e.g. 2010/03/23 | Comments: 2 or 2010/03/23 [Comments: 2] or whatever...
Great!!! Thanks
