I made a mod of your "YouTube Embed" plugin. I added support of IFrame Player API and made JS to pause played video when it becomes invisible. If the user pauses the video manually, it will stay paused after it becomes visible again.

You do not have 'YouTube Embed' on GitHub, so I can only send my mod here YouTubeEmbed-M.zip

I do not want to interfere, but the Youtube plugin for ckeditor is not bad either - though rather unknown. It has aresponsive mode and  a start-time - mostly sufficient.

Sure. both have their pros and cons.
In general, using dedicated section types suits my designs better, but sometimes an inline solution is the way to go.

Unknown? Um ... it actually ranks place 4 on all non-standard-build CKE plugins (out of over 300)
I'd rather call that one of the most popular.
