Hi,
I've been messing around with the SMTP Contact Form and thought I would give some feedback.
First of all it's a great plugin, which may enable non-programmers to implement custom mail forms on their homepage. Unfortunately it does not work quite like that yet.
It would be great if the user could insert new fields into the form which would be included in the mail. And acutaly I have implemented thay myself, using a simple techniqe which is explained here: http://aktuell.de.selfhtml.org/artikel/php/form-mail/ It's in german, but the code should be easily understandable.
Another point is the default template. It's written in a form that cannot be easily extended or recreated with the built in editor, which makes it harder to create good looking custom forms. I personaly would prefer a table layout as well. Best would be if there was a template file which I could modify from which the new forms where created, but that might be a little complex.
The last point would be the check for required fields, which can not be applied to custom fields. I have no Idea how that could be implemented easily, so I would not see that a requirement ;)
Oh, and a localization would be great of course, I could help with the german part!
So far my feedback for now.
Greetings,
Benjamin

Hello Benjamin,
thanks for your tips. I am not advanced programmer, that's why this plugin is so simply programmed. Here would be very convenient the knowledge of javascript, to make the form items draggable, just like it is nicely made in the gpEasy's Page manager. Thanks for your tips, that table layout is good idea, I think I'll implement it. Also, I conceived that it would be better use the Special Page instead of the Gadget include. And localization is no problem, but that customization (adding & removing) of the form fields I dunno how to implement. If anybody knows, how to implement it, any posts will be welcome :-) Surely it's possible, gpEasy is a good example of this functionality, but I dunno how. So I'll try to remake it and after that, I'll upload an updated version on gpeasy.com.

O.k., thanks.
Here is also one quite interesting example dynamically-add-remove-rows-in-html-table-using-javascript.
Edit: So I just uploaded the new version 1.6 with the support for checkboxes, radioboxes, selection lists and textareas :-)
Seems working nicely.
