Hi,

I'm a newbie and when I did a clean install I get the message::

"Please upgrade to version 1.6, then 1.7 before upgrading to this version."

I also got the message that files under data couldn't be saved (pages.php, users.php etc.) so I created them and let install overwrite them.

All the checks were passed.

How do I fix this?

Cheers,

Nigel

It looks like config.php si not being created on install.  It's just an empty file.

Anybody got any ideas?

Sounds like the install never really worked. If you had to create "pages.php, users.php etc." then gpEasy (via php) was unable to write to your data directory.

Do you recall if you had to change the permissions of the data directory before being allowed to enter your username, password, etc for installation?

Is was a fresh install and all the permissions were correct.

I tried installing it on another system and it worked but I got "Oops that doesn't work" when I tried anything.

I've given up on gpEasy and tried a couple of other CMSs (Lotus and LNE Mini) and they work fine.  LNE Mini seems to be the best for what I need.
