i have install another instance of this perfect CMS. However installation didn;t went smoothly as I again needed to enable debuging to find out what is going wrong. After some research I founf that my FTP client uploading files will lower case file naming. some files in folder /include/tool/ are with capital letters. Wouldn't be better if all file are lower case?
That's a pretty odd thing for an ftp client to do. I'm doubtful all of the files in gpEasy with upper-case characters are going to change though. There are quite a few files including some in third-party packages that gpEasy uses. Sorry. If you need a different ftp client, I can highly recommend fireFTP. It's easy to use and works inside of firefox.
Yes, Josh is right, and I am a bit curious, what ftp client do you use? It is a standard feature of ftp-client to preserve character-case, it's good both for unix and windows enviroment, so that filenames are also better readable. You could try to find in the Settings of your ftp-client some option to preserve the lettercase, or use another ftp-client. Good one is also WinSCP for Windows (current version 4.3.5, it also has two panels interface).
I do no use any specific FTP client. i use total commander for file management. Total commander has option to upload file only in lower case and this option was always on. In my practise it is better to use lower case filenaming in unix like systems. But if you think that is not the case just ignore it.
