I have a hosting service and i want to use gpeasy CMS as skeletion so that people can easily get gpeasy in their site instantly after creation. Please let me know if anybody have any idea on it.

There is an addon that helps install gpEasy multiple times, but it doesn't sound like that's what you need.

This type of feature has a great deal of potential though and I'd be happy to help you with it or develop it according to your hosting providers specs. We'd just need to discuss how you envision it working and how to incorportate it into your hosting environment. Let me know if you'd like to pursue this further.

Looks like your last post didn't save, but I got the email...

Using the skeleton folder alone probably won't work because of two of the problems you saw:

   1. editing features does not work.
   2. creation of new username and password.

Is the host using WHM and cPanel?

I've been looking into how to auto-install using WHM and if possible, it's looking quite invovled. If we can fiure out how to do it, it's not going to happen fast.

Just came across some information about WHM/cPanel that explains how to do it. Do you have access to a /scripts directory?

Even after finding some good resources, this is proving to be a larger endeavour than prevoiously thought. And without /script access, it doesn't sound like it's possible. There's still possibly a way to get some of the things you're looking for though.

They key to everything may be to put all the gpEasy files into the skeleton directory and not run the installation. When a new account is created, the skeleton directory will be copied over to the new account and when the new user accesses their site, they'll be prompted for a username / password. This may also fix the editing problem you encoutered.

For adding a "hosted by" link before the powered by text, the easiest method would be to add it to the gpOutput.php file (line #1965 approximately).

Hope this helps.

now I have a question, how will the username/password will be prompted? do i need to do anything for that and probably I may need to create username and password for individual users.

gpEasy prompts visitors for a username/password if it's not installed. So when the gpEasy files are copied to new accounts from the skeleton folder, it's the uninstalled version that's copied. Each new account will then need someone to enter a username/password into the installation script. It's not ideal, and I'm not sure file writing permissions will work, but it's possible.
