Topic: Comment function for Simple Blog

Not sure which way would be best. If you generate the inline clear in the plugin then maybe people would not have to 'fix' their template. If you use a class you are asking people to add the class to their css file. I guess either works - don't see why having it in the plugin would be a problem. Maybe others have an opion on this?

Topic: Comment function for Simple Blog

Tried the blog with my Artisteer based template and it works ok but there is a formatting problem for the blog list (which is not related to the template design). I put two entries into the blog. I then went back and added a picture to the most recent one at the beginning of the content. In the list display the first original entry. Because the content for this blog entry is only one short paragraph the text did not extend below the inserted picture. The other blog entry ended up below the content of the most recent one instead of being below the entire blog entry. I was able to fix this by adding another div after the post with a clear: both; in an inline style.

Looks like there needs to be a tweak to the plugin code to fix this.

Topic: hide in page edit buttons on menus

I am only runing local right now. If you give me a mailbox address I can send you a zip file of the theme folder I am using.

I also tried the css you presented and that does eliminate the edit button but not the red box for a menu.

Topic: hide in page edit buttons on menus

Is it possible to turn off the display of the in page edit popup links for menu's. They still don't correctly wrap around my menus plus on the dropdown menu (Artisteer created template) the popup around the menu actually prevents me from clicking on a dropdown menu item.

In File Manager with my Artisteer template there is not enough room for the last hidden item to show the popup menu - I just see the top third of it.

Topic: Menu styles

Hi Jimmy,

I don't want to hack the css for Artisteer because if I do that I will impact any gpEasy menu calls as the all use the same ul class. What I have done is to make a couple of pretty simple hacks to gpEasy that allow me to override the ul class and provide a custom link template for the <a link in fullmenu. I do this in my template like this:

global $config;

// override menu ul class for artisteer

$config['menu']['ul_class'] = 'art-menu';

// the link template will make it compatible with the Artisteer css

$config['menu']['link_template'] = '<a href="#href_text#" #attr#><span class="l"></span><span class="r"></span><span class="t">#label#</span></a>';

gpOutput::Get('FullMenu');

// clear override

unset($config['menu']);

This approach allows me to override gpEasy and use FullMenu with the dropdown menu code/css produced by Artisteer yet not impact the normal gpEasy output. Seems that this might be a useful enhancement to gpEasy.

If anyone is interested I can provide the pretty simple hacks to the gpOutput.php and common.php files.

Topic: How to call a plugin

I guess I'm a bit confused because I am thinking of plugins in the contect of other systems I have worked with like cmsms, Joomla etc. where plugins are something that you can imbed into the content with the content editor by simply inserting code such as {{myplugin}} where it might be a snippet for lets say a embeded google map. I also am not clear when you say a plugin which has a gadget in it. I'll have to take a look at the Simple Search to see what is going on there.

Topic: How to call a plugin

There is not much information in the documentation on how to put a plugin/gadget into a template. I see a method called gpOutput::GetAllGadgets() but it does not do anything when I try it. Need more info on how to create and access our own plugins/gadgets.

Topic: Extras cancel button

I don't know if this is considered normal behaviour but if I go to edit an extras area if I save it I get the list of all of the extras. If I cancel I just get a blank content area but not the list. I also noticed that the Usage syntax is not the same as that which is in a template.php file.
